The deluxe lathe includes digital readouts (DRO) on the compound rest, cross slide, carriage, and tailstock (cross slide and carriage DROs feed data via magnetic scales to a Bluetooth equipped tablet display). All DROs read equally accurately in inches and mm. It also includes an AXA quick change tool post set with five tool holders; anodized aluminum hand wheels with black anodizing in the centers; chrome knobs and levers; and a heavy duty splash guard that covers the full bed length. In addition, the compound rest is modified to better accommodate the quick change tool post.
The lathe features a power cross feed and 1000 Watt brushless spindle drive motor for tremendous low-end torque. You can vary the speed from 100 rpm to 2000 rpm continuously in both directions and there are no gears to shift. The updated control panel allows you to stop and then restart the lathe at a pre-selected speed.
The cross feed and compound rest dials are graduated in 0.001" and advance 0.050" per turn. The lathe is equipped with a 4-way indexing tool post set for 10 mm tools.
A reversible 2 mm pitch lead screw provide extended threading capability. With our lathe machinery, you can create every American Standard Unified class 2A inch screw thread from 8 to 80 threads per inch, and you can create every American Standard Metric class 6h thread from 0.2 to 8 mm pitch with the change gears that are included. All the gears on this lathe are metal.

The 3164 tooling package comes equipped with a 2MT arbor for the tailstock, a boring bar set, center drills, cut-off blade, 1/2" drill chuck and a set of turning tools with indexable inserts.
The 3973 stand cabinet comes from the lathe manufacturer and the chip tray has pre-drilled mounting holes that fit the footprint of the bench lathe. Its two column design provides stability while the double cabinets give extra room for storing tooling and accessories. The stand has bolting slots for securing the stand to a floor for additional stability and safety.
